About UsQuin Rivers, Inc. is a non-profit corporation serving the Counties of Caroline, Charles City, King and Queen, King William and New Kent. Founded as a Community Action Agency in 1970, the organization sees its mission of Strengthening Individual, Family, and Community Development as the best approach to serve its low- to moderate-income clients and the counties within which they reside.

‘Quin’ is a Latin prefix meaning ‘five’, and the organization is named after the five rivers defining the boundaries of its five primary counties. These five rivers are named after the tribes who were the original inhabitants of the area.

Quin Rivers operates on the concept that in order to thrive, individuals must live in communities that are ‘healthy’; that is, able to fulfill the basic needs of their citizens. In turn, communities cannot thrive unless the citizens residing within them are also doing well.

Working collaboratively, Quin Rivers works with its many partners toward the best interests of the counties it serves and, thereby, the best interests of the citizens who reside within them.

As a non-profit organization, Quin Rivers provides services through a combination of grant monies, fundraising, private donations, and through the tireless efforts of countless community volunteers.
