The Hispanic Council on International Relations (HCIR) is dedicated to foster greater awareness of global affairs, to encourage and promote Hispanic American participation in international relations and to heighten the Hispanic voice in foreign policy formulation and implementation.

Located in Washington, D.C. , we are in close contact with policy makers, community leaders, and international development organizations, among others actively involved in international issues.  We work with these contacts to provide a platform for U.S. Hispanics to participate in the international arena.

The Council holds forums on issues of increasing importance to the U.S. Hispanic community in cities throughout the United States.  Expert speakers have addressed our membership. Visit our Programs page to learn more about these and other activities.

In addition, each year HCIR bestows an International Leadership Award, which recognizes a leader who has promoted increased U.S. engagement abroad, in particular in the Western Hemisphere, or who has promoted increased U.S. Hispanic participation in international affairs.
